11+ Workbooks and Reading Lists

Below is a comprehensive list of books and collections we recommend for our 11+ students to work through and read. The links are clickable and direct you to Amazon to purchase through our shop.

The aim is to develop your child's vocab, attention span and imagination as well as provide a lifelong love of reading. Use factual books if they prefer these. Any reading is better than none! Praise whenever they read and try to build a 15 - 20 minute 'quiet time' into the day

after dinner or before bed when the only activity that they are allowed is a book.

If your child is a reluctant reader you may need to start small, with interesting comics such as National Geographic Junior or the excellent children's newspaper, First News. Let them read whatever they want though - the cereal box contains plenty of challenging words and

information! The best way to reward your child for reading is by discussing it with them. They may well be extremely reluctant the first time
