Providing a British standard of tuition to a global community

About us

Tayberry Tuition & Consultancy Ltd benefits from its co-founder, Jo Austin's, 30 years of tutoring experience and education expertise.

Research shows that children perform significantly better when they’re tutored one-to-one for their education, compared to students who are tutored in a traditional classroom setting. (Bloom, B; 1984)

Based in West Yorkshire, U.K., we specialise in providing a British standard of education to clients all around the world using highly effective online tuition.

We work with students from all backgrounds and of all capabilities, with the sole aim of enabling them to reach their potential and helping them achieve success.

We have a holistic approach to a child’s education, and therefore also provide ongoing mentorship and support to the family as a whole to encourage every child on their educational pathway.

Our mentorship programmes are also focussed on enabling our students to feel confident ahead of continuing with their educational journey, with an emphasis on personal development and the building of esteem.

Who we are

Jo Austin

Jo Austin has 30 years of experience as a tutor, mentor and educational consultant. She has worked with families and students of all backgrounds, and with all capabilities, and has an in-depth knowledge of the British education system.

Compassionate, caring and conscientious, she is well equipped with the knowledge to enable your child to reach their potential.

Marie-Elise Worswick

Marie-Elise Worswick is an expert in the British education system. Educated at two of the top schools in the North West of England, and further educated at a top Russell Group University, she is highly experienced in the workings of the education sector in the U.K., and can provide independent advice on the best pathway for our students.

Our Tutors

Our tutors are all young adults that have had extensive, high quality training before working at Tayberry.

The tutors plan their lessons in consultation with Jo and provide written feedback for every lesson via family WhatsApp groups.

The tutors we work with are mostly at University, recent graduates or taking time to gain work experience before or during their degrees. They are highly competent and have the advantage of having real life experience of recently doing the exams that they are tutoring for. They are also excellent mentors to their students and we find that students prefer a fun, young fast paced tutor to an older teacher with a more formal top down delivery style.

Our amazing tutors are very much the best aspect of working with Tayberry and are highly effective in their teaching.

What we do

We combine the personalised service of a luxury educational consultancy with the rigorous academic preparation of the most competitive tutoring service.

We supplement high-quality, bespoke one-to-one lessons with mentoring and pathway planning to enable our students to reach their full potential.

In a post-pandemic world, where many children have missed out on in-school education and the ability to attend mentorship sessions, and as such missing out on key educational opportunities, we understand the importance of enabling your child to better their education and reach their academic potential.

We provide a range of services to suit the needs of all of our clients, including bespoke tuition, mentorship, educational consultancy, educational pathway planning, residential tutors, and chaperones and film-set tuition.

We also provide aplatinumservice for students GCSE and beyond for students and families who are in need of extra support ahead of their examinations and university applications.

We work with both families, in the U.K. and overseas, as well as with multinational businesses and production companies to ensure that your child's best interests are met.

Our Values

Family - to ensure the decisions recommended by us are an honest appraisal and suit the family as a whole, as well as our individual students. Our guidance is always based on the lifestyle of the wider family unit and the dynamics within it.

Wellbeing - to ensure our student’s overall wellbeing is a number one priority. We have educational psychologists always on-hand to support our students mentally, as well as looking at our students in a holistic way, providing individualised advice and support at times of increased stress.

Achieve - to ensure our students achieve their personal and academic potential whilst working with us, whatever that may look like. Some of our students may be aiming for a pass at GCSE, whilst others might need support for Oxbridge interviews. In every case, our priority is supporting our students to achieve their individual goals.

Communication - to ensure we have excellent and open lines of communication with our families and our students. This can be seen most clearly in our private chat groups which families are able to take advantage of, giving parents peace of mind that there is always someone there to answer their queries.

Diversity and equality of opportunity - to support a diverse range of students and families, not only as part of Tayberry, but also through our CIC, Ask The Question, which helps disadvantaged students to access our tuition programme. Tayberry donates 10% of profits directly to support students who would like extra support with their learning but aren’t in the financial position to benefit from our bespoke support.

Fun - to ensure all of our lessons are enjoyable and engaging, and that our students have fun whilst learning. When our students enjoy their sessions, they are able to see the value in what they’re doing, thus feeling more motivated to achieve their aspirations.

Relationships - to build strong relationships between ourselves as tutors and our students and their families. Our relationships are built on mutual respect, and by knowing our students well, we are able to provide more individualised support and enable our students to excel.
